Student Forum

1. The unique interests of students, and the Society's interest in students as future members, are addressed by the Student Forum.

2. Activities
a. Sponsor a session at the annual conference on a topic of the Forum's choice. All program deadlines must be met for this session;
b. Co-sponsor the new students' breakfast at the annual conference;
c. Help to operate the annual Silent Auction, of which students are the primary beneficiaries (see Funds and Awards)
d. Maintain a web page on the Society's website;
e. Report student activities to the Bulletin editor.

3. The Forum is led by two co-chairs, who shall be selected by their predecessors in consultation with the Board Liaison (see Student Forum Liaison under Current Appointees.]

a. The student forum chairs shall have been members of the Society for at least one year at the time of appointment and shall maintain membership throughout the term of office.
b. Neither of the new chairs shall be enrolled at the same institution as the outgoing chair, nor as each other. Students may not continue as co-chairs once they have graduated from their programs.
c. The chairs shall hold office for a maximum of three years. The co-chair appointments should alternate so that both chairs do not leave office in the same year.
d. Registration fees for the national conference will be waived for the co-chairs [2/03].

4. Funding

a. Student Forum Fund [see Funds and Awards]
An individual budget line, funded by donations and by occasional Board allocations (for conference-related expenses) is established for the Student Forum. At the end of a fiscal year any unused funds are carried over to the budget line for the subsequent year.

1) The Student Forum may receive donations from individual Society members (e.g., at the time of membership renewal), or from outside sources.
2) Any extensive fund-raising activities on the part of the Student Forum must be coordinated through the Society's Development Committee.

b. Student Travel Endowment Fund [see Funds and Awards].
