1. Qualifications
The candidate for vice president must:

a. be a more senior member of the Society;
b. be able to function as president in president's absence;
c. have been an active participant in the Society;
d. not have run for and lost the presidential or vice-presidential race within the last four years.

2. Charge
The vice president acts as chief executive officer in the event of the president's inability to serve and, in general, works closely with the president. The vice-president also assumes such other responsibilities as may be determined by the president or the Board.

3. Term of office
The vice-president serves for a two-year term and may be re-elected once.

4. Duties

a. The vice-president serves on the Development Committee and reports on the financial condition of the Society including contributions, in the summer Bulletin.
b. The vice president is responsible for the ongoing evaluation of the Long Range Plan and for reporting on its status to the Board.
